4:13am

exhausted today...yea the title of this post is the time my body decided to get up this morning and I never quite got back to sleep...ugh...so now I'm at work staring at the clock wishing it was 5 o'clock but it's not ugh! I was trying to figure out something to blog about today but I couldn't really think of anything...My hair or outfit isn't show-worthy cute although I did paint my nails last night the polish bubbled and is uneven so I'll probably try again tonight...sorry my lack luster attitude definitely stems from my lack of sleep last night...I was supposed to go see a play tonight but my friend (won't mention any names but if she see's this she'll know I'm talking about her) has not called me about it and I think I'm going to Aqua Zumba tonight anyway. I don't like reading posts without a picture so here's my loving face sending kisses to all of you for stopping by...Have a great day!!

SweeT poTato sPinaCh and OniOn

ooOoH and don't forget the Feta cheese...this is thee best salad I have ever eaten...no lie...I didn't start eating salads probably until my 20's because I didn't like salad dressing or tomatoes or raw onions and a salad with just lettuce....let's be real what's the point...but noww Oh but now I've gotten past all that even to the point where I'm experimenting with arugula, kale, spinach and all different varieties of salad greens. Only catch is something in the salad must be warm for me to feel like it was a meal...usually it's a meat but I've since moved on to sweet potatoes and roasted onion!! I was first introduced to this specific salad by my good Indian friend Nina when I visited her this past April...I've made it twice since then and I love it because if I don't eat it all I can heat it all up and the spinach wilts, the feta melts and it's a new dish delicious on its own!
And then thisss is my...plant..so ffunny story a couple weeks ago I went to Home Depot because I saw they were having 50% off of all their Burpee?? plants...so I bought a Mr. Stripey and cherry tomato plant a red pepper plant some basil and the plant pictured below...now... a huge part of me hopes and kinda knows that it's a zuchinni plant..but I do not remember finding one when I was at Home Depot so I'e been waiting patiently for the flowers to turn to fruit and BY GEORGE!! It is a zucchini plant...

I'll take a picture of my backyard potted garden for you guys another time...It's 10 and I've had a long day...between working on my grad school essay, taking Cardioboxing and playing with the dog anddd making a stop at Walmart which always takes longer than expected even if you know exactly what your'e going in there for..uuuuuhhh gotta cut this short Big Bang Theory just started :-)

Blog ya later!

Soo this is really what I do in my spare time...well what I used to do...I'm not ashamed...I like to eat what I like to eat when I like to eat it And...I like for it to be pretty...so a couple years ago (while still in college) I was looking for a way to make some spare monies around Valentine's Day so I made these...

Unfortunately I didn't make record sales (I don't know why...they were beautiful and delicious) but whatever it was fun just making them but wait there's more....I made these too

I love this picture for two reasons 1. I can't believe my little purple digital camera took it and two look at those pretzels!! Anyway...I'm moving on put *insert plug here* If you would like to surprise a significant other or yourself with a delightful treat contact me...these too can be yours! Let's see what else I have in my vault of creativities

I made these "upholstered" if you will baby photo albums for a couple special babies in my life...they are adorable..I have one that my mom made for me and I cherish it and love the look of the books

Then there's the diaper cake...lots of work but well worth it!

Other side!

This one is probably my favorite because I'm cheap and sushi is expensive but it is so easy to make if you have all of the ingredients so I made this basket for my grandfather for Christmas one year...it literally has everything (minus the seafood) he needs to make sushi including the sake...I love making things like this because the outcome is so pretty...

ok I'm convinced

For a while now my family, friends, collegues and co-workers have told me I need to start showing off what I do...but to be completely honest I'm hard on myself and quite a perfectionist so what others deem as pretty or delicious or *insert other fabulous adjective here* I usually think its just ok but that's the Capricorn in me what can I say...

Anywho this weekend I got bored and thought I'd finally open the new sewing machine my dad bought me for Christmas last year and make a cute square top shirt out of this patterned sheer curtain I bought for $3.25 at the thrift store...after 3 hours I gave up on that and put it back in the sewing bin to work on when I lost some more weight because I didn't give myself enough fabric to fit around my slowly shrinking hips...so I thought I'd start with a real pattern and go from there...I figured with a name like Simplicity it cant be that hard to make...

Funny tidbit...the fabric I used to make this skirt started out as a twin size fitted sheet $5 from Walmart...creative and thrifty..YeS!..but the color was gorgeous and I needed a twin size sheet when I did volunteer work in New Orleans a couple months ago so that's where the fabric came from...it is kinda see through so I'll have to be mindful of my undergarment choice when I really wear the skirt...It took about 6 hours to make the skirt and I can't wait to wear it
